CADES Achievers Program
Transitioning into Meaningful Futures
CADES Achievers is our student-centered transition program which empowers students ages 14-22 to reach their highest potential in both the educational environment and in the community. Support and guidance are provided to students and families in order to seamlessly connect them with adult service providers and guide their transition into meaningful futures.
CADES Achievers draws from best-practice techniques while utilizing an integrated and collaborative approach to create opportunities to practice vocational, social, recreational, and life skills to support meaningful participation and success in their adult lives.
Community-based instruction (CBI) is recognized as best practice and is an integral component of the CADES Achievers educational programming for high school students with severe disabilities who are preparing to transition to adulthood.

CADES Achievers Methodology:
Connect: CADES partnered with local business, non-profits and schools in the neighboring areas to link resources.
Collaborate: Through thoughtful discussions programs for our students and community members with special needs were established. Examples include weekly book clubs, activity groups at the local community center and cooking for residents at a nearby CLA home.
Create: Individualized adaptations along with low- and high-tech assistive technology allow events and activities to be accessible to those with the most complex needs.
Increasing the students’ active participation and social engagement in our local neighborhood has been a highlight of the CADES Achievers educational program.
